Remember (or not) how a few weeks ago we had our annual Mamamia up-fronts where half a dozen of the team went around the country to present our up-coming slate for 2025 to advertisers and agencies and media?
Here’s a reminder of how I decided on what (not) to wear":
And here is how it ended up:
Anyway - I forgot that when I was packing, I made a couple of videos of what I was packing other than clothes…..here’s Part 1 - Part 2 later in the week because the videos take forever to upload.
I’ve never interviewed anyone about this before…..
Sometimes I hear a story and I know it’s going to change someone’s life to hear it. In a way, that’s my filter for choosing No Filter guests and topics.
This episode is one of those.
I spoke to Anna Martin, a recovering gambling addict who almost lost her life to this insidious industry.
Women who gamble are in the shadows. When most people picture a gambling addict they see a man - because men are who gambling is marketed to, and it’s also who most of the anti-gambling help is targeted at.
Anna was in the shadows. She didn’t want anyone to know about her gambling habits, or the risks she was taking, or just how bad it got…to the point where she almost lost her life.
Shame and secrecy are killers. In Australia gambling is shrouded in shame and secrecy. It was no small thing for Anna to share her story with me but I’m so grateful she did. They say the best disinfectant is sunlight - bring these stories out of the shadows and shine a light on them so we can help and support each other.
Have a listen and let me know what you think……

I love your clothes, your style. You always look fabulous. Do you always feel confident in what you’re wearing when you leave the house? I struggle regularly.
