I made this video for you two weeks ago while I was getting ready but life got in the way and I didn’t send it. Some of this went up on social but most of it is just for you. I had been so sick with this damn cold for so long and it was Sunday and I decided the best way to motivate myself was to make Babble content. It always lifts me out of a funk. Enjoy the chaos.
THE SEXY SIX
What am I hyper-fixating on this week? So glad you asked.
1. New Shoe Rack, who dis?
I bought this wardrobe organiser from Amazon this week because I froth over these things and today I spent an enjoyable hour building it. I find flat-packed furniture quite soothing for my brain. It was incredibly cheap in both price and material - unpacking it, I made a hole in one of the shelves which is about as sturdy as thick carboard even though it’s apparently bamboo. Cost about $45. Don’t look too closely and maybe don’t sneeze near it or it will fall over.
2. John Farnham
My favourite thing that happened at the Logies was the tribute to John Farnham. Guy Sebastian and Jessica Mauboy covered his two biggest hits: Burn For You and of course, The Voice. My god, that song is a banger. It’s the only time I can remember dancing to bagpipes. I’ve had this John Farnham playlist on blast ever since.
3. It Ends With Us
Yes, it was the drama that got me to the cinema to watch it but for me, the movie held its own. Loved it actually. Thought Blake was terrific in it. Here’s the trailer…

4. An Honest Conversation About Rage
The MID podcast is back for another season and this conversation was like a drink in the dessert. The rage that descended on me and in me seemingly overnight in my 40s was such a shock and a source of bewilderment. And shame. Turns out? Pretty common.
5. The Jacket Of Dreams
I found this delight on Pinterest which has become a place I like to hang out now a bit because Instagram feels like work and has also become so very shouty since all the people who left Twitter after Elon seemed to have come to Insta to continue shouting. Obviously, I fell deeply in love and immediately did a reverse Google image search to find out where it was from with my hopes pinned (optimistically) on Zara. Lol. It was a label I’d never heard of and it cost $5,499.
Since it will sadly never be mine, I’m going to draw some far cheaper sexy joy from looking at it and admiring the glorious way this woman has styled it with bright yellow shoes and baggy rolled-up jeans. Even her coffee cup is vibing.
6. POST-POO DROPS
Disclaimer: these were sent to me, I didn’t buy them but snaps to the copywriter who wrote “In instances where vigorous activity has occurred in the toilet….”
ALSO THIS WEEK:
For Charlotte Cowles, it was a normal day in October 2023 that began with taking her toddler to kindy and ended with her handing $50K to a stranger in the back of a car while begging him not to hurt her family.
And the thing is that Charlotte Cowles is young, well-educated, sober, sane and in no way fits the profile of someone you would expect to get taken by a scammer. This wasn’t an ordinary scam though. It was psychological warfare and it’s happening everywhere. Protect yourself and your loved ones by listening to this ep.
Omg loved “What I didn’t wear to the logies”. Perfect choice in the end but I gotta say I didn’t hate the blue double dress tied at the front. I kind of loved it. 🙌🏻🙌🏻
I am VERY envious of your sneaker collection!!!
